Final Reflection

Being a third year student, I heard a lot positive news about this module and I was eager to put myself to this challenging task. Though I wanted to take it the previous semester with my friends, I was outbidded and eventuallytook it up again this semester.

Even though I wasn’t able to do this project with my group of friends, I was glad that I came alone and this has helped me meet new friends. It was also through this that I had to adjust myself to an environment and engage in skills I picked up with different people.

Furthermore, with an already cramped timetable, my project group members (Valerie and Joyce) and I had to work on our project while pushing back some of our deadlines. Even though we had to put up long hours to do our project, losing some sleep in the process (Anyway, no pun intended even though our project title arose from the lack of sleep!!), we had great fun while understanding the plights of one another. Compromise had to be made so that we could finish our task at hand.

In this course, I realised that an effective communication is not an easy task, and it requires an active participation of the people involved. However, it is not ideally possible to achieve many situations, due to the fact that there is not enough time for anyone to explain everything to each other and that not everyone is as open about their problems as how we would want them to be. Eventually, it boils down to being accommodating to one another and how we can convince others while not threading on their toes.

  1. Hi Blogging Buddy Mr. Isaac!

haha! 7 blog posts and here we are- at the end of this module. This is really fast! Well, hope you enjoyed your first blogging experience! It was fun on my part, especially when blogging has became routined and graded. haha.

So cheers to our blogs and buddy- friendship!

  2. Finally!! finally i can let go of all the restrictions.. rofl. I don't have to vomit blood all day on getting to write so formally, esp on a platform that is not really meant for such formal topics.

and yes, i still kinda don't really like it man. i dont like to blog where everyone can see. diaries are usually meant for one's personal use. >.<

it's a different issue if it were a forum or something else where i can 'bitch' around all day. you'd probably see me spamming forums all over.

hope to see you around some time. :)

  3. Hey Isaac!

Last post & Last comment! Indeed, Effective communication is something that requires two hands to clap and I have to say, your presence and participation in class has indeed made the class more fun to be in!

You have a vibe about you that people can relate to and you can definitely use it to your advantage, plus your sincere deposition makes it even better! So you don't have to worry too much about threading on anyone's toes!

It has been my pleasure to have been your classmate and reading your blog posts. I sincerely wish you all the best in all that you do.

  5. Hi Isaac,

First of all, I have to say, your group project topic was my very favorite. Mostly because I value my sleep so much and have so little time for it. Please try to send your report to the OSA and get them to do something about it.

As you have said, in order to communicate well, one needs to cultivate understanding and not be controlling and overbearing. The EQ skills we learnt in this course will come in handy in this area.

All the best with your exams!

Haha.. Thanks for the comments. Sad to say, despite how much i did research on that topic, I'm seriously underslept!! OMG. Yeah, at least during this exam/study week. After the exams, it'd be another long sleepfest or maybe not. My body clock has somehow tuned to get up by 8am without any alarm clock. :)

    @THE_jialing
